The profiles include such things as addresses, green fees, pars, yardage, USGA slope ratings, caddies, carts, lodging and practice ranges.

This marks the first time Golf Magazine, one of the nation’s most widely circulated golf publications, has ranked the best courses in each state. Victoria Hills is in elite company on the list of Florida’s finest, alongside several hosts to professional tour events and world famous resorts; the state boasts more than 700 public-access courses in all. The magazine’s rankings panel included editorial staff and well-traveled golf industry sources.

Celebration Golf Club to Host 10th Annual Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt Tournament Aug. 30 Print E-mail

CELEBRATION, Fla. --- Celebration Golf Club and the Golf Channel will host the national championship rounds of the 10th Annual Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 30 starting at 9 a.m.

Gene Garrote, vice president and general manager at Celebration Golf Club, said the Celebration tournament marks the climax of the Golf Channel’s 2008 Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt Tournament season.

“The Drive, Chip & Putt Tournament visited 52 metropolitan cities throughout the United States since its start at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens on April 5,” Garrote said. “Celebration Golf Club will host the culmination of this national tour.”

Four Ways to Qualify for National City Million Dollar Shootout Print E-mail

During the final round of the ADT Championship, scheduled for November 23 at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach a few lucky finalists will be shooting for a million dollar hole-in-one.

The National City Millon Dollar Shootout has announced four ways to qualify for the contest along with corresponding qualifying sites.

Golfers can qualify four different ways: Win a finalist spot at any of the six sites open to the public; win a finalist spot in an official designated charity golf tournament; qualify on the range during the ADT Championship or look for the enter-to-win sweepstakes display at any participating South Florida Publix beginning in mid-October.

Gene Garrote, vice president and general manager of Celebration Golf Club, said golfing groups comprise an important market for the golf club.

“Hotels, attractions, restaurants and area corporations and companies that reward their executives or sales staffs with a day of golf are an important market segment for us and we’re treating them special,” said Garrote.

Dave Brewer, Inc. reports luxury home sales only slightly off from 2007 Print E-mail

Dave Brewer, Inc., which ranks as one of Central Florida’s most active builders of luxury custom homes valued at more than $1 million, reports that sales so far this year are only off by 4 percent from 2007.

Matt Trask, business director at Dave Brewer, Inc., said the homebuilder is on track to close on sales of 15 luxury homes for revenues of more than $27 million before the end of this year.

Since Jan. 1, Dave Brewer, Inc. has had 17 new homes under construction at an average sales price of $1.5 million.
